Los Angeles, CA — March 23, 2009 — Summit Entertainment announced today that Native American/First Nation actors Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman have signed on to star as the members of the wolf pack in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON. In the film, the wolf pack defends humans against vampires although they have a tribal history intricately entwined with Edward Cullen and his family. The wolf pack members will join Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and fellow wolf pack member Taylor Lautner in the film directed by Chris Weitz which will be released domestically November 20, 2009.
In THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested.
Each member of the wolf pack is of Native decent. Spencer is Lakota (Sioux), Pelletier is Cree-Metis, Meraz is Purepecha (Tarasco), Gordon is Hualapai, and Houseman, who was discovered at an open casting call, is Cree. Casting of the wolf pack was overseen by award-winning casting director Rene Haynes who is well-known for her work on Native projects ranging from DANCES WITH WOLVES to BURY MY HEART AT WOUNDED KNEE.

i am so happy about how they made the wolves turn out even though they DIDN'T keep Jake's fur color the SAME as in the book i wish they wouldn't let edward come back in new moon i also hope that the cover of new moon has jake and bella on it with the wolf pack in the background NOOOOOOO edward
ReplyDeletei HATE edward cullen with a passion he is so mean to Jacob sometimes and trust me - jake against filthy vamp cullen- jake could take him down in seconds plus jake and bella make a cuter couple but in the end im sorta glad bella was with that stinky vamp cuz they had Renesmee and Jacob loves her to death literally
ReplyDeletei cant wait until new moon comes out!!!!!! i think the preview is better than the whole twilight movie taylor lautner is really hott i LOVE himin his wolf form too edward is sort of cool he's sorta nice to jacob black i like him and bella 2gether the wolf pack looks really cool 2 i ove emmett he is so strong and muscular i wold love to be held by him i do kinda wish bella and jacob kissed in new moon before Alice showed up but edward called and jake was like "charlies a the funeral" ovbiously not thinking he is funny though i didn't like the part where in the preview jacob phases in front of bella i don't think she knew and in the book she had to guess i hate that they can't make the movies longer-gosh that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteomg edward is a loser and shoulndt have been so mean to jacob hes younger than edward after all and is bellas best friend and the movie cover hould def have jake and bella w/the wolf pack but with a supper microscopic pic of edward were he looks all sad cause jacobs holding bella and not him lol. one more thing. . . . .REAL MEN DON'T SPARCLE!
